NCRS ST. LOUIS CHAPTER EVENTS
The St. Louis Chapter of the NCRS hosts many Corvette related events throughout
the year. Many events are related to the NCRS judging of the preserved or
restored Corvette but, many more are simply driving and enjoying the tradition
of America’s Sports Car. Guests are welcome and encouraged to attend at
our Chapter events.
NCRS JUDGING EVENTS
Chapter Judging Events
The St. Louis Chapter holds two local NCRS Judging events each year; one in the
spring and one in the fall. These events allow for the local Flight Judging
of 1953 through 1999 Corvettes to the standards
of the NCRS Judging Manuals specific to the year of the Corvette being judged.
Owners of cars to be judged must be members of the NCRS but are not required to
be members of the St. Louis Chapter. Pre-registration for Flight Judging is
required. Check our
for dates and locations of the St. Louis Chapter
judging meets this year.
As defined in the NCRS Corvette Judging Reference Manual, “Cars are to be
judged to the standard of vehicle appearance and as equipped at the time and
point of final assembly by the Chevrolet Motor Division of General Motors
Corporation. Presentation of the cars being judged is to be in the condition
normally associated with that of a Corvette which has undergone the then current
standard Chevrolet dealer new car preparation for delivery to a purchaser,
exclusive of any dealer or purchaser inspired additions, deletions, or changes.”
The St. Louis Chapter has many experienced NCRS judges, several experienced to
the Master level. St. Louis Chapter Flight Judging is conducted to the same
level of judging as is judging at the regional or national levels.
Regional and National Judging Events
The St. Louis Chapter has hosted or co-hosted many regional and national NCRS
events over the years. Most recently St. Louis co-hosted with the Kansas City
Chapter the 2014 National Convention in Overland Park, KS; co-hosted with the
Kansas City and Oklahoma Chapters the 2013 Heart of America Regional Meet in
Joplin, MO; and co-hosted with the Kansas City Chapter the 2008 National
Convention in St. Charles, MO.
Sportsman cars are displayed not judged at NCRS chapter, regional and
national judging events. The Sportsman Award has two purposes: Encourage member
participation in NCRS events and to demonstrate the NCRS commitment to recognize
a member who actively attends and drives a Corvette to chapter, regional and

A handsome NCRS Sportsman ribbon is awarded to the member for their
participation. The owner may further pursue a Sportsman Award Plaque provided
by the National NCRS by displaying a stock appearing Corvette at Chapter (2
points), regional (3 points) and national (5 points) judging events,
earning 20 sportsman points within a three year period, including at least two
regional level events.
JUDGING and TECHNICAL SEMINARS
The St. Louis Chapter hosts several judging and technical sessions each year.
The goal is to further the knowledge of Corvette hobbyists about Corvettes as
well as the NCRS judging process.
Technical sessions cover a myriad of Corvette related topics from fiberglass and
mechanical repair to restoration of components.
Judging seminars are intended to develop the judging skill of NCRS members who
volunteer to judge cars at all levels of NCRS judging. NCRS members
participating in Chapter judging seminars may earn one judging point. “Master
Judges” must earn a minimum of 100 points through judging seminars and judging
experience at chapter, regional and national events. The NCRS also recognizes
at the national conventions those Master Judges who go on to earn 200, 300 and
400 points. Our Chapter has a number of members who have achieved these
The St. Louis Chapter holds a number of social events each year including a
dinner meeting on the second Thursday of each month, a BBQ in conjunction with
each chapter judging meet and an annual Holiday & Awards Dinner Party.
ROAD TOURS and GARAGE TOURS
St. Louis Chapter members enjoy driving their Corvettes. They may be found
caravanning a string of vintage Corvettes through the country side to visit Pere
Marquette State Park on the Great River Road near Grafton, IL, Bob’s Gasoline
Alley in Cuba, MO, a Corvette restoration shop or other interesting excursions.
CAR SHOWS and SWAP MEETS
St. Louis Chapter members regularly participate in many local automotive events
including the Horseless Carriage Club of Missouri Easter Concours d’Elegance,
Cars and Coffee at Westport Plaza and various car club shows. Members also band
together to attend the Bloomington Gold, Corvettes at Carlisle and Mid America
Motorworks Funfest. In addition, Chapter members are always looking for a swap
meet in hopes of finding buried Corvette treasure.
The St. Louis Chapter is currently a sponsor of Nurses for Newborns, a local
organization that provides a safety net for families most at risk in order to
prevent infant mortality, child abuse and neglect by providing in-home nursing
visits which promote healthcare, education and positive parenting skills.
Chapter members also support the organization by volunteering at the Nurses for
Newborns facility where they sort, organize and even repair donated goods and by
spending a day each Christmas Season wrapping shopper’s gifts at Plaza Frontenac
for nominal donations to Nurses for Newborns.
A 50 / 50 raffle is held at most Chapter events with proceeds going toward our
annual donation to sponsored charities.
